In 2022, James Hamblin and his family founded Chains for Tracks, Inc., inspired by a challenging experience in snowy McCall, Idaho. After retiring our wheeled skid steer and acquiring a tracked skid steer, we quickly discovered the difficulty of operating it in snowy conditions. Despite extensive searching, James found no existing solutions on the market that met our needs. Determined, he embarked on a journey to design a solution himself.
In his shop, James meticulously crafted a set of chains specifically for our new tracked machine. Through numerous prototypes and rigorous trials, he successfully developed and refined the Chains For Tracks. This innovation, initially popular within our local community, has now evolved into a product we are excited to share. Arrived on time and worked wonders in deep snow I put a set on two bobcat excavators for a forestry mulching project. We put 62 hours on between the two machines, and walked through 2′ – 2 1/2 feet of snow with 0 problems. Did not have to adjust any of them. Pricey? A little bit…but so is everything else. Worth every penny if you’re working on snowy/icy terrain. Easy to order and arrived quickly. And the chains fit the tracks perfectly. Super quick delivery even though I was across the country in the middle of national snowstorms. Product works beautifully! Love it. Easy to install. Highly recommend!
